Description:
Technically easy circular tour mostly on forest roads on the Steinmühlen and a short detour to the Planwipf.  Total 7.3 km and 473 metres of ascent.

Directions:
We start just below Hambaum at a car park on the left, right next to the road. The route first takes us across a small mountain pasture, then up along forest roads to our first destination. At a hunting lodge after 2.2 kilometres, we keep left and climb up an unmarked path to possibly the smallest real summit cross in the area. The Planwipf, 984 metres above sea level. We take the same route back down to the hunting lodge and follow the forest road, which now leads us in the direction of our actual destination. At KM 3.4, the forest road splits and we continue to the right. At the summit plateau of the Steinmühle, a newly erected large summit cross awaits us with a marvellous view of the surrounding area. Continue along the path. A hunter's stand can be recognised not far away. We walk along the path and then down the forest road, keeping to the left of the path. At KM 4.9, we turn left off the forest road onto a forest path, a small cairn marks the turn-off. We now run moderately steeply through the forest, crossing a forest road once, until we reach a forest road again, which we keep to the right for a few hundred metres. Shortly before a house, we turn right onto a meadow path back towards our starting point.

Equipment:
The required equipment always depends on the particular tour and the weather conditions. Regarding the food: This is very individual and it is recommended to have rather too much than too little with equipment and food. For a 5km round in the valley you need less than for a demanding tour in the mountains. The weather can change quickly and if you are not constantly on the move or need to take a break, for example, warming clothing is of great importance.

We have a general checklist for you here:

weather-appropriate running gear for the season - weather forecast - region - elevation. This includes: * a waterproof rain jacket * a waterproof rain trousers suitable for running * Gloves and warm headgear (hood/headband/towel). * sunglasses + sunscreen + headgear for very warm days
